Alain "Lino" Tadros, President and CEO

Alain "Lino" Tadros is President & CEO of Falafel Software, a Silicon Valley based company, with presence in Colorado,Texas, Michigan, Florida and North Carolina, dedicated to providing world-class consulting, training, and software development for small, medium, and enterprise level businesses. Prior to founding Falafel, Lino was a member of the development team at Borland for Delphi and C++Builder. Lino has been awarded Microsoft MVP status eleven years in a row for his numerous contributions to the C# community and is an expert in .NET, LINQ, ASP.NET, MVC, XAML, Windows Phone and Web Services. Lino is an industry renowned speaker and has given numerous presentations on 5 different continents since 1994. He also currently sits on the Board of Directors of 4 Silicon Valley corporations.

 
Sean Samuel

Sean Samuel, CFO

Sean comes in with almost over 20 years experience of accounting and management skills including all aspects of billing, A/R and A/P general ledger postings, and payroll processing. Also, he’s very efficient in optimized bookkeeping principles, debits, credits, taxes and closings. Sean’s specialties include proven problem-solving, analytical and creative thinking skills, ability to function with a do-whatever-it-takes attitude, strong capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Sean has a passion for traveling, hiking, photographing and exploring any mountain state that has alpine lakes and waterfalls, he loves to play tennis, ping pong and beach volleyball.

Noel Rice

Noel Rice, VP Software Services

Microsoft Certified Application Developer Noel has over 20 years of experience in the software industry including numerous successful projects in the industries of medical, telecom, financial and manufacturing. He has also worked as a lead developer on major projects for Hewlett Packard and Johnson & Johnson. Noel has authored over ten books on diverse subjects ranging over ASP.NET, ASP.NET AJAX, Silverlight, Android development, CMS, Reporting, automated testing, Winforms and ORM. He has also written numerous articles on software development for top industry magazines.

Lance C. Bullock

Lance C. Bullock, VP of Mobile Solutions

Lance has over 20 years’ experience leading teams, architecting, and developing enterprise-level solutions for some of the world’s largest corporations. Prior to joining the Falafel team, Lance served as a Group Manager at Check Point Software Technologies. As a leader and engineer, he was responsible for scalability, performance, feature development, federation/clustering, and protocol work on the Check Point Endpoint Security Secure Access Server; which managed tens of thousands of desktop security installations. Prior to Check Point, Lance was CTO/Vice President of Technology at Full Moon Interactive and .class Corporation, where he was a recognized industry expert in Delphi, JBuilder, and Windows development; as well as a speaker, author, and trainer. Lance holds a B.S. in Computer Science/Mathematics from California State University Sacramento. In his spare time, Lance can usually be found at some random Bay Area sports venue, watching his sons in their various athletic pursuits.

Jim Holmes

Jim Holmes, VP ALM and Testing

Jim has been in various corners of the IT world since joining the US Air Force in 1982. He’s spent time in LAN/WAN and server management roles in addition to many years helping teams and customers deliver great systems. Jim has lead successful delivery teams at software consulting firms and product companies alike. He’s worked with organizations ranging from start ups to Fortune 100 companies to improve their delivery processes and ship better value to their customers. Jim’s worked in many different environments but greatly prefers those adopting practices from Lean and Agile communities.

When not at work you might find Jim in the kitchen with a glass of wine, playing Xbox, hiking with his family, or banished to the garage while trying to practice his guitar.

 
George Saadeh

George Saadeh, Managing Director of Falafel Dubai

Sitefinity Certified Developer George is a results-driven and customer-focused Senior Consultant, adept at thinking outside the box. He has advanced skills with leading-edge programming tools, with a 7 year track record of devising tailored solutions to meet ever-changing business requirements. George has experience in a range of industries including retail, telecom, banking and advertising, complemented by a great passion and ability to assimilate and utilize emerging technologies. He has in depth knowledge of the .NET platform and specializes in ASP.NET, SQL Server and WPF to deliver web enterprise solutions.

George holds a Computer Engineering degree. He enjoys traveling, road tripping, music and playing basketball.

He started as a consultant using Delphi to rapidly deliver custom, high-quality business solutions in a wide variety of industries. His later experiences afforded him the opportunity to become familiar with a number of different products, technologies, and disciplines, including SQL Server and T-SQL, Oracle and PL/SQL, Crystal Reports, SQL Reporting Services, Internet Information Services, .NET Framework, LINQ, Entity Framework, Command batch files, Windows Script Host, PowerShell, normalized relational database design, dynamic databases, and good object-oriented design based on design patterns and re-factoring.

Matt Kurvin

Matt Kurvin, Chief Designer

Matt has been involved in the arts his entire life. Attending art schools since he was 5, it was only natural that his career be surrounded by the creative. From layout, illustration, concept design, to photography and animation, he strives to keep on the cutting edge of contemporary design.

Matt's specialties are in Web Design, User Interface Design, and Usability Design, implementing a full spectrum of software and programming languages including Html, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Adobe Suite, Sitefinity, and many others.

Matt's passions include surfing, photography, playing music, world travel, and new experiences.

Jonathan Tower

Jonathan Tower, Senior Software Architect

Jonathan--or J. as he is known to friends--enjoys the creative side of software development. With over eleven years of software development experience, his projects have included areas such as e-commerce, procurement, marketing, logistics, and manufacturing. Over the years, Jonathan has helped companies like Abbott Laboratories, LTD Commodities, and Uline Shipping Supplies to develop their enterprise software applications using technologies such as ASP.NET, SQL Server, and more recently WPF and Silverlight.

Jonathan lives in Michigan, where he enjoys biking, backpacking, and photography. Jonathan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Taylor University.

Josh Eastburn

Josh Eastburn, Senior Software Architect

Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist Josh has over 10 years of web and application development experience as a software engineer and consultant in various industries including distribution, financial services, marketing, and pharmaceuticals. He has experience in C# and ASP.NET and specializes in using Silverlight, RIA Services and Entity Framework to deliver enterprise-level dashboards, project scheduling integrations and logistics applications.

Josh holds a BS in Computer Science/Business Systems from Taylor University and lives in Charlotte, NC. He enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with his wife and children.

Bary Nusz

Bary Nusz, Software Architect

Microsoft Certified ProfessionalFalafel’s “Tinkerer-in-Chief”. Bary’s career has taken him from the oil field services industry, to LCD research, and to the DOE. He’s served as a lead researcher, designer, and programmer on numerous systems that encompassed a wide range of technologies such as ultrasonics, eddy current, and down-hole viscosity measurements — all along the way using the latest software technologies to solve complex control and data imaging challenges. With numerous patents and engineering/scientific achievement awards he finds no challenge too hard to handle. During the spring he spends time chasing down severe storms, and in the summer spends time at the lake with his family. He also enjoys competing as an epee fencer along with his son and daughter. Bary has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University.

 
Basem Emara

Basem Emara, Software Architect

Basem has over 10 years experience as a consultant and developer for dozens of projects for educational, advocacy, non-profit, small business, enterprise, and governmental organizations. As an innovator who recognizes and leverages the power of the web, he has been able to help real estate agencies, schools, hospitals, wholesale distributors, shipping carriers, and other businesses pioneer their industries utilizing the best that today’s technology has to offer from a more creative point of view. Simple yet elegant is the key to his approach, as well as the belief that continual process improvement is always possible.

Rachel Hagerman

Rachel Hagerman, Senior Software Engineer

Microsoft Certified Professional Rachel finds joy in meeting challenges in her career and her life. After deciding to pursue a career in electronics, and as one of only a handful of female students in her department, Rachel graduated at the top of her class with a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Oklahoma State University. Two years after graduation, she was leading the software design team on a multi-million dollar testing system for the Department of Energy. Rachel has experience in circuitry design and automated test systems, but her true passion has always been for software.

Rachel loves to spend time with her husband and daughter on their Oklahoma cattle ranch enjoying horseback riding, taking photos, and making memories with her extended family.

 
Josh Morales

Josh Morales, Software Consultant

Telerik MVP Josh has been developing with Sitefinity since 2008, eventually earning Telerik MVP status and later an official Developer Support Specialist for Sitefinity at Telerik. His interest lie in expanding and extending the Sitefinity platform, adding new features and functionality to help end users make the most out of their website. Josh is also passionate about all flavors of .NET and develops apps for both Windows Phone and the Windows 8 store.

Music is Josh’s other passion, and in his spare time, he spins and produces electronic music under the name DJ SelArom.

Venkata Koppaka

Venkata Koppaka, Senior Software Engineer

Venkata Koppaka has over 7 years experience developing variety of line of business applications to various financial and IT organizations. Venkata has been developing with all Telerik products since 2008, he ended working for Telerik on Sitefinity team as a senior developer for Ecommerce module. He is extremely interested in developing custom solutions for Sitefinity based Ecommerce stores. Venkata is a big fan of Test Driven Development and strives himself to write code that is completely testable and modular.

Venkata has a Masters in Computer Science from Syracuse University, which drives his continous learning addiction. In his spare time, Venkata develops apps for Windows Phone 8 platform and learns the most cutting edge technologies in software development.

When he is not spending time on computer writing software, Venkata enjoys reading about cars and watching football.

Heather Kostes, Senior Project Manager

Heather is a Project Management Professional (PMP) with over 15 years of experience in Project, Program and Account Management. She has a background working in various industries including finance, insurance and technology; most recently working for Microsoft in the MVP program. Throughout her career, Heather’s focus and passion have been on building strong customer relationships and delivering value to the customer via clear communication and consistent follow through.

Heather recently relocated to Silicon Valley from Seattle, WA and is enjoying exploring all that the area has to offer. Health and fitness are also a great passion of hers and Heather is a certified Pilates instructor.

Kevin Babcock

Kevin Babcock, Senior Software Engineer

Kevin Babcock began his career as an IT professional for the U.S. Air Force in the late 90s. After 9 years of service he transitioned from the armed forces to the private sector, simultaneously making the switch to software development. Kevin returned to school to finish his degree and, by the time he graduated, held several part-time jobs as a software developer and Microsoft student evangelist. It was during his time in college that Kevin fell in love with web development and .NET. After graduating, Kevin joined Telerik as a Developer Evangelist and spent the next year sharing his passion for software development at conferences and user groups around the country. Since then Kevin has developed software for companies in a variety of industries, from government (defense) to major league sports. Most recently he was the lead developer on a web-based scouting solution for Major League Baseball clubs. Kevin has a degree in Computer Science from Texas A&M University and is a Telerik MVP.

Kevin has two young sons. When he’s not spending time with them or writing code, he enjoys biking, fishing, and catching the occasional Aggie football game. Gig ‘em!

After He graduated with a BS in Computer Science, He made the switch to Software Development and specialized in JavaScript, ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, and Telerik Controls to deliver cutting-edge Web Solutions. Joseph believes in the power of simplicity to solve complex problems while using the advantages offered by new technologies. He strives to write elegant, readable code using powerful development principles like refactoring, OOP, SOLID principles and Design Patterns.

While he is not developing for the web, you will find Joseph writing Nutrition plans and workout programs for his clients, Playing PC Games, Watching Movies and even enjoying a wild ride with his red BMW on a wet track!

 
Carey Payette

​Carey Payette, Senior Software Engineer

​Carey Payette has over 14 years professional IT experience in industries ranging from government, to private sector and utilities holding multiple titles throughout this time including support developer/technician, data architect, software developer, software architect and enterprise architect. Carey's an ASPInsider and was a recipient of the Microsoft MVP award in Client App Dev from 2009-2011. She also serves as the Treasurer for the US National GiveCamp organization and is a member of the Stir Trek conference organizing committee. Carey is a mom to 3 fabulous boys, a black belt in Taekwondo and enjoys coding for fun!

 
Jeff Valore

Jeff Valore, Senior Software Engineer

Jeff has over 15 years of experience in software development. Inspired by the movie 'War Games' in his youth, he taught himself C++ in his teens and later expanded his professional experience to include Java, C#, and JavaScript. Over the last year he has been focused on client-side web development and performance tuning. Jeff enjoys attending development conferences and user groups, and strives to be an active participant in the software development community. Jeff previously worked at Telerik, and brings a wealth of Kendo UI knowledge to the Falafel team.

 
Patrick Dunn

Patrick Dunn, Software Engineer

Patrick began his career in the U.S Navy as an Information System Security Officer. During his service he was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for developing a suite of applications to improve network health and security. After four years of service he transferred to the civilian sector officially making the switch to development. He worked as a Sitefinity Developer Consultant for Telerik and has been developing using Telerik products for more than 3 years.

Patrick acquired a Bachelors in Computer Information Science during his service. In his spare time he enjoys tinkering with new technologies and studying anything that interests him.

Ryan Axford

Ryan Axford, Inbound Marketing Manager

Ryan is a certified marketing professional dedicated to digital content creation and optimization using inbound marketing techniques. He has experience managing content and web development, graphic design, and email campaign design and construction.

Ryan is responsible for all content marketing initiatives and programs at Falafel. He oversees content and lead generation, nurturing, SEO optimization, landing page creation, social media and outbound campaigns for both Falafel and the EventBoard Mobile App.

 
Saad Ahmed Khan

Saad Ahmed Khan, Software Engineer

​Saad is an ASP.NET developer with 4 years of experience, and has also made a number of contributions to the Sitefinity marketplace and community. He loves to explore new code, and create innovative tools and procedures while exploring new approaches in his work with Sitefinity and MVC. As an experienced .NET developer, he frequents both Telerik and Microsoft technologies.

In his spare time, Saad is an avid gamer and movie fanatic, and also experiments with new and interesting tools on the Microsoft platform.​​

 
Scott DePouw

Scott DePouw, Software Engineer

Scott has been working with .NET and web technologies for over five years, having developed many backend applications and frontend web sites. He's an experienced developer well-versed in many flavors of ASP.NET and SQL, C#, JavaScript/jQuery, and has even dabbled in a little CSS. He loves to solve problems, and is a major proponent of Test Driven Development. In recent years he's become very experienced with many Telerik technologies, particularly Sitefinity, and has built and maintained many sites using these tools.

Scott enjoys playing games of all kinds: videogames, board games, tabletop games! He also likes to get outside whenever possible, to enjoy a good book, and spend time with his family.​​

Michael Pickett, Designer

Michael has over 6 years of experience as a corporate graphic and web designer, producing innovative branding and marketing solutions for clients. His focus as a designer is to maximize brand recognition in the mind of the consumer, in both digital and print medias. He has previously worked as a designer for Telerik Sitefinity, and as a design director for a design agency in Denver, CO. Michael graduated from Kansas State University and his passions include his family, photography, fishing, and traveling overseas.

 
Tyler Coolbaugh

Tyler Coolbaugh, Software Engineer

Tyler has under a year of experience working with .NET and web technologies since graduating from The University of Akron with a degree in Computer Science. He has spread his experience over a range of languages and tools, from MS Batch to Java, C#, and WebGL. Tyler has recently acquired experience with Sitefinity and putting it to use.

In his spare time, Tyler is an avid video gamer and enjoys working on small software and electronics projects with colleagues

Jimmy has over 5 years of experience in web and application technologies. He believes in agile methodologies and software craftsmanship. He regularly contributes to open source projects and has multiple apps in the Windows and Windows Phone Store. He worked as a developer at Telerik for the Services Department for 2 years.

Jimmy graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in Computer Science and Engineering and in his spare time he enjoys studying Information Security and Cryptography.
